Allâh, The One And Only True God
He is the One and Only Deity, the One Who is Worshipped and the One Who deserves to be worshipped by the whole of His creation due to the Perfect Godly Attributes that He is described with.
"Allâh! There is none worthy of worship but He, the Living, the Sustaining. Neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him. To Him belongs whatsoever is in the heavens and the earth. Who is there that can intercede with Him except with His Permission? He Knows what happens to them (His creatures) in this world and in the Hereafter. They will not encompass anything of His Knowledge except that which He Wills. His Footstool extends over the heavens and the earth and he feels no fatigue in guarding them. He is the Most High, the Most Great." (Quran 2:255)
In fact "Allâh" is the perfect word to describe the "One God" of monotheism.
Where Does the word "Allâh " Come From?
"Allâh" comes from the Arabic word "elah" - (Arabic) means 'a god' or something that is worshipped. This word (elah) can be made plural, as in "aleha" and it can be male or female. "Allâh" comes from "elaha" but it brings more clarification and understanding.
- Allâh = Has no gender (not male and not female)
- "He" is used only out of respect and dignity - not for gender
- Allâh = Always singular - Never plural
- "We" is used only as the "Royal WE" just as in English for royalty
- Allâh = Means "The Only One to be Worshipped"
Is "Allâh" only for Islam and Muslims?
"Allâh" is the same word used by Christian and Jewish Arabs in the Bible, before Islam came.
On page one [1] of Genesis in the Old Testament, we find the word "Allâh" seventeen [17] times.
